Our years of experience, a larger workforce, and industry expertise fuel the development of over 200 new features and improvements yearly to support growing businesses — delivering more than any other software solution on the market.
For the past decade, ServiceTitan has been revolutionizing how contractors operate, making us a solution you can trust to support your business needs today — and scale with in the future.
The following are some core reasons to choose ServiceTitan over Jobber.
Monitoring profitability is essential for success in the trade business, but contractors often struggle to access real-time job costing for their projects. This challenge can make it difficult to gain clear insights and proactively manage profitability.
ServiceTitan’s job costing flyout solves this problem by providing real-time data that empowers teams to maximize profitability within the business. Our advanced functionality for job costing reports and metrics offers a level of accountability and control that surpasses competitors like Jobber, making it easier to track profitability across the organization.
ServiceTitan has the capabilities to support small businesses up to enterprise-level operations. If you are a medium-to-larger enterprise or have ambitions to grow, our platform will be far more able to support you compared to Jobber.
This is exemplified throughout our platform in numerous ways. For example:
Support for Multiple Business Divisions, Business Units, and Properties: We offer features to support residential and commercial service, as well as construction divisions. We support multi-tech jobs, multi-location shops, and roll-up reporting to track metrics across your operation.
System Consolidation/All-in-One Functionality: We bring the functions of standalone systems into one connected solution. No alternatives bring together FSM, CRM, ERP, and financial technology (fintech) capabilities to deliver an unmatched experience for growing businesses.
At the Center of the Ecosystem and Tech Stack: From our 50+ pre-built integrations (2X more than Jobber) to open APIs, we provide the ability and seamless connection to third-party platforms to not only ensure real-time data syncing but also make ServiceTitan the source of truth for your data.
Infrastructure to support you as you grow and scale: We’ve been the leading software of the trades for over 10 years and are backed by leading investors. With quarterly releases, we’re continuously delivering new features and improvements right to your account, so you know your business is running with the latest innovation in the market. Our platform provides the reliability and support that’s needed for a business operating in a 24/7 world. With our historical uptime of 99.9%, ServiceTitan is a partner you can rely on.
Security: Protecting customer data is a top priority for ServiceTitan, so we have implemented best-in-class security practices to keep customer data safe based on best practices in the SaaS industry. We have compliance with PCI-DSS Level 1 (the highest security standards for handling credit card payments), AICPA SOC 1 Type I (financial reporting controls), and AICPA SOC 2 Type II (ensuring data security, availability, and privacy are consistently maintained over time). ServiceTitan’s formal security program is detailed in its independent third-party SOC-2 audit report and ServiceTitan’s Security and Privacy Documentation. ServiceTitan’s Security and Privacy Documentation and independent third-party audits demonstrate the advanced security framework that ServiceTitan uses to protect customer data.
Jobber does not currently offer inventory management either in platform or integration, so users need to adopt and pay for separate inventory management solutions that are disconnected from their field service management software.
With ServiceTitan, users gain access to a full suite of inventory management features with our base subscription. You can track bill of materials, work order parts consumption, and quantities on hand across all inventory locations (both warehouse & vehicles). We also have barcode scanning via our inventory mobile app. You can receive purchase orders, transfers, and counts to ensure the highest accuracy.
The #1 newsletter for the trades.
While Jobber is known for offering a great community of users, ServiceTitan also offers robust customer support, community, and training resources that help our users develop greater industry expertise, get maximum usage out of our product, and learn how to implement best practices to grow their businesses and revenue.
For example, ServiceTitan users get exclusive access to:
Knowledge Base: Extensive help articles that walk step by step through nearly every feature on our platform.
Dedicated Support Teams: A personal support team to address specific questions and concerns.
Comprehensive Training and Onboarding: Extensive training and onboarding for new users to help with understanding the software and utilizing features effectively.
Titan Exchange: A cloud-based platform for sharing assets such as contracts, templates, checklists, and other valuable information.
TitanAdvisor: With personalized feature recommendations and focused, step-by-step guidance, TitanAdvisor takes the guesswork out of choosing the right ServiceTitan features for your business, so you get the results you want.
ServiceTitan Community: A users-only message board where ideas for our software and business in general are shared.
Free Peer-Group Training: A program run by ServiceTitan employees through Ember and Spark sessions, designed to share best practices.
Certified Admin Program: Our Certified Administrator program provides a structured approach to increasing knowledge of ServiceTitan, as well as constant and continuing education on the software.
Business owners and operators, particularly in the core industries that ServiceTitan was built to support (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) find these resources to be invaluable for getting the most out of our platform, as well as staying up-to-date with the best practices and strategies that are working for other companies.
For example, here are some testimonials from people in the ServiceTitan Community:
“ServiceTitan Community has had a massive impact on our growth as a company. We have created connections, gleaned ideas/strategies, and grown exponentially. That may have never happened without the network that Community provides.”
“The ServiceTitan community provides a wonderful opportunity for networking. It’s a great place to have questions quickly answered. You can search by keywords to pull up resources, and if these can’t answer your question, you can post your question as a discussion and have other users help. Having the community helps all ServiceTitan users to feel connected to one another! I love the ideas page where we can post our ideas about the direction we would like to see the software go. This helps us feel like valued customers when we can influence the future of the software!”
ServiceTitan is at the forefront of bringing AI to the trades, something no other platform can provide. With Titan Intelligence (TI), our AI engine, you get actionable insights to help automate repetitive and simple tasks, predict outcomes, lower costs, and stay competitive in a world run by data.
At the 2023 Pantheon conference, we announced 14 new AI-driven features across our Pro Products and Accounting suite. In 2024 we announced several new features that build further on what we’re already providing for trade businesses.
The key difference between ServiceTitan and other solutions when it comes to AI development for the trades is twofold:
Access to trade-specific data: AI takes an enormous amount of data inputs to develop effectively, and ServiceTitan benefits from trade-specific data across thousands of customers and locations giving us a significant advantage compared with other providers.
Dedicated AI division: ServiceTitan has an entire division — Data, Titan Intelligence, and AI — that is dedicated to developing these advanced technologies for our customers. We’re developing an AI platform for the trades — not simply a series of chatbots within our software.
While Jobber users can have a pricebook built for them, they don’t offer nearly as much flexibility to make pricebook customizations and updates within their software. Therefore, when compared to ServiceTitan, Jobber users do not have as much control over their pricebook — the backbone of a service business and most essential asset for maintaining profitability.
With ServiceTitan, users have a range of options for creating their pricebook, including:
Uploading a pricebook that they’re already using. That way, if they already have a pricebook they like, they don’t need to start all over again from scratch.
Creating a brand new pricebook from the ground up. Our interface makes it easy to do; for small businesses, this can be a practical option.
Opting to use Pricebook Pro. ServiceTitan’s Pricebook Pro is an upgrade product that offers a pre-built, continually managed flat-rate pricebook.
In addition, ServiceTitan users have far greater capabilities for managing their pricebook, such as:
Individual Pricebook Item Editing: The ability to edit any pricebook item or service as needed, any time, with just a few clicks.
Bulk Editing: The ability to make edits and markups to groups of services, packages, equipment, and/or materials. With a few clicks, changes can even be applied across an entire pricebook.
Dynamic Pricing Automations: The ability to set up rules to auto-update pricing according to customized parameters, such as when certain overhead costs change ( labor rates, materials, etc.).
Pricebook Connect: With Pricebook Connect, you’ll have direct, cloud-based access to materials and equipment from top industry supplier catalogs, with automated updates of item descriptions, product images, and pricing as manufacturers make changes.
Combined, this suite of features makes pricebook management seamless, reducing the time your team needs to spend on making updates manually, and ensuring that your prices are regularly up-to-date to reflect evolving costs — all while protecting the profitability of your business.
Rather than build marketing functionality natively into their product, Jobber integrates with Mailchimp to provide marketing capabilities to their users. However, this presents some key limitations:
The need to navigate outside of Jobber to manage marketing activities such as email marketing or direct mail.
The need to learn how to use yet another app/tool to facilitate marketing.
And importantly, the need to periodically upload your CRM and marketing data into Mailchimp.
In contrast, similar to our pricebook features described above, ServiceTitan’s marketing functionality is built natively into our platform. This means every marketing activity you perform can be handled without ever leaving ServiceTitan, and you never need to update an outside platform with your CRM data. That happens automatically as every marketing campaign is informed by the most up-to-date customer data inside ServiceTitan.
Our Marketing Pro feature allows service industry contractors to easily generate micro-targeted campaigns, providing them with the intel they need to send the right message to the right customers at the right time — whether their goal is to close more unsold bids or capitalize on seasonal demand.
While Jobber offers 20+ built-in reports for service providers to track their key performance metrics, they offer less ability to customize reports when compared to ServiceTitan.
In addition, Jobber’s reports aren’t designed to allow users to drill down into their data and see the sources of their reporting metrics, so users generally have less ability to a) glean insights from their data and b) ensure that they can trust and rely on their data.
In contrast, roughly 30+ built-in reports come standard with a ServiceTitan subscription, covering things like profitability, job costing, and field technician scorecards, to name a handful of the most popular options. But users can also customize reports with targeted filters as specific as their needs, allowing them to gather intel on KPIs like marking ROI, sales process efficacy, and revenue trends.
Plus, our platform allows you to click on any number being reported and trace it back to its original source, be that a particular job, invoice, technician, etc. As a result, we empower business owners to have the utmost visibility into their data, and therefore the greatest ability to steer their business toward growth.
While both ServiceTitan and Jobber have QuickBooks integrations, Jobber’s version is not compatible with QuickBooks Desktop, and it also doesn’t offer two-way syncing. As a result, service businesses need to do more on their end to maintain data between Jobber and their QuickBooks account (and that’s amplified if you’re a QuickBooks Desktop user).
ServiceTitan, in comparison, has automated two-way syncing between the platforms so your accounting is always up to date. And, it’s compatible with both QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online. This is a significant improvement and time-saver for business owners and staff that are responsible for maintaining accounting.
Currently, Jobber does not offer native inventory management features. As a result, field service businesses need to bounce back and forth between Jobber and whatever inventory management software they use. This can be a significant workflow inefficiency, particularly for commercial service businesses where inventory management can be quite complex.
In contrast, ServiceTitan has built-in inventory features that allow you to manage your inventory directly within our platform. This helps to further streamline your workflows and ensure inventory is always accurate and up-to-date.
Appointed staff can access and leverage a suite of tools to optimize inventory and purchase order management, including:
Inventory Overview: At a glance, users can view all items that they’ve added to track with ServiceTitan inventory. For each inventory item, this view displays an item name, code, description, along with quantities available, on hold, on order, and on hand, plus the average cost per unit and total value of the stock. You can see big-picture numbers, such as total inventory valuation and total number of items. Or you can drill down into individual inventory items for further detail.
Replenishment: To track equipment and materials in your trucks and warehouse, our replenishment feature automatically updates to reflect the number of items needed in a given location. As items are added to invoices or purchase orders, these are automatically reflected in your inventory data. Users can be prompted to replenish to maintain the necessary inventory.
Purchase Orders: Users can initiate the requisition of equipment and materials for jobs right from within the estimate screen. They can then create and send purchase orders to the appropriate vendors, and track those orders through fulfillment. Inventory data automatically updates to reflect all POs.
And more: This feature set also includes workflows for managing adjustments, returns, warranty parts tracking, and more.
The features we’ve discussed throughout this post are just some of the areas where ServiceTitan offers more to trade service companies than Jobber.
We also provide comprehensive features for:
Technician mobile app (compatible with Android and iOS devices)
Customer experience and customer relationship management (CRM)
Payment processing (accept credit card payments, checks, etc. both online and via mobile)
Online booking tools
And more
